The Problem

Every year, approximately 14 million metric tons of plastic enter our oceans. That's equivalent to more than an entire garbage truck full of plastic being dumped into the sea every minute. A staggering 1 million marine animals die each year due to plastic pollution alone. In addition, plastic products can cause humans a lot of harm as well. Plastic is made up of lots of small microplastics which when entered into our bodies, can cause lots of harm. It can cause conditions such as cancer, chronic inflammation, and many unknown effects. Yet, plastic and other non-eco-friendly products cost way less than eco-friendly products, skewing us to choose them over environmentally sustainable ones.

The Goal and Plan

Project Eco’s mission is to create a sustainable environment one neighborhood at a time. We aim to combat the use of non-eco-friendly products and bridge the gap between eco-friendly and non-eco-friendly alternatives.

Eco-friendly products can often be more expensive than non-eco alternatives. As a non-profit, we source these products directly from manufacturers and offer them to our customers at the purchase price. This allows us to ensure accessibility to sustainable options for all. Student volunteers from your neighborhood will help distribute these products to customers. Let's collaborate towards a greener future.
